Hamburg-based Becker Marine Systems are opening an office in Kobe, Japan with a display of manoeuvring systems and energy-saving devices at the “Sea Japan” exhibition.
“We have been able to establish ourselves on the Japanese market in the past few years”, said Henning Kuhlmann, Managing Director of Becker Marine Systems, “we now want to adapt ourselves more to the special market in Japan and continue to increase the level of awareness in the region.”
Becker recently won orders for their Twisted Rudders form Imabari Shipbuilding and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, as well as a King Support Rudder for Japan Marine United. The Sanoyas shipyard also ordered Becker Mewis Ducts for its 61,000 btw bulk carriers.
In addition to the successful distribution partnership with Nakashima Propeller, Becker Marine Systems will be opening its own office in Kobe, Japan in the coming months. “From our new support office we want to respond significantly more to the needs of the local market and provide technical support”, said Kuhlmann.
